Welcome to the Volunteer Emergency Radio Network project (aka VERN) from the nonprofit CryptoRights Foundation, Inc (CRF). The goal is to create a toolkit and technology for any group or community to create a radio-based public safety network, now transitioning here to Phase Two. This website is under development.
The first phase of the VERN project was our radio community organizing & development work from 2018-2021 as the “CAVERN” project. Old CAVERN project content will be migrated to this website as quickly as our volunteers can manage it.
Phase Two is the development of our hardware mesh node protptype, which was started in 2019 by our R&D team led by Dr. Derek Noonberg.
